Meet Larisa
I offer a client-centred and integrative approach to treatment of a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress-disorder, and personality disorders.
I have an interest in trauma, how the body carries unprocessed life experiences, as well as the role of body-centred therapeutic practices and expressive therapeutic approaches in healing. I’m interested in the use of body-mind approaches in therapy, and our capacity to connect with ourselves through being present in our bodies in a safe and nurturing way. My approach focuses on increasing self-awareness to our inner sensory and emotional world that contains the essence of our responses to life challenges. I’m interested in the use of somatic practices, such as trauma sensitive yoga, and our capacity to connect with ourselves through being present in our bodies in a safe and nurturing way.
I am inspired by existential philosophy and psychotherapy, and aim to encourage clients to evaluate their beliefs, values and the choices they make, as well as confront the limitations and open up to the possibilities in their lives. I am guided by a strong belief in human capacity for overcoming personal suffering, and the tendency to strive towards finding meaning and purpose and reconnect with our authenticity.
