I am an accredited mental health social worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and a Director of Lilly Pilly Counselling Incorporated. I have over 20 years experience working with children, young people and adults with a wide range of issues. I have knowledge and experience working with mental health issues, sexual abuse, trauma, child abuse and neglect and therapeutic counselling.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work from Sydney University and have completed post graduate training and workshops in child and adolescent mental health, peri natal metal health, narrative therapy and CBT.
I use a variety of evidence based approaches in my work with clients who have symptoms of trauma, anxiety and depression including sensory motor psychotherapy techniques and cognitive behavioural therapy. My professional development and practice is framed around the impact of early experiences on the brain, on the life course and on future steps toward wellness.
I also work with clients who are struggling with relationships, work, parenting and interpersonal issues.
I provide professional supervision, training and debriefing.
As a mental health social worker, I am able to see people who have been referred by their GP so they can receive a Medicare rebate. I am a registered provider with the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network and provide Psychological Support Services for clients referred under this scheme. I am an approved counsellor for NSW Victims Services and see victims of crime under this scheme.
