SHARING THE BEAT
Sharing the Beat is a ½ day parent / child anxiety taming workshop. Activities include movement, body and breath awareness and African drumming.
CIRCLE OF SECURITY – DADS ONLY
This dads-only group is designed to provide a safe place for fathers to grow and celebrate parenting. Fathers attending this group learn how to develop a secure relationship with their children and to meet their children’s emotional needs. Fathers also discover how to support their children in developing a strong self-identity and resilience.
CIRCLE OF SECURITY
Circle of Security is an internationally acclaimed parenting program, based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. Circle of Security provides education, support and skills to enhance your understanding of children and of your parenting. Circle of security is suitable for parents of 0-7 year olds.
TUNING INTO KIDS
Tuning into Kids is an evidence based 2 hour per week, 6-week program for emotionally intelligent parenting. It is designed for parents of children aged 4-10.
PEACEFUL KIDS PROGRAM
Peaceful Kids is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. Peaceful Kids is an engaging and fun 1 hour per week, 8-week program suitable for schools and after school venues.
MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 2.5 hour per week, 8-week experiential educational course, which cultivates emotional, psychological and physical resilience and well-being. MBSR brings together meditative practices with current scientific understandings of the brain.
MBSR provides intensive and systematic training in formal and informal mindfulness practices. This includes learning how to cultivate an observant, accepting and compassionate stance towards your own thoughts, emotions, body sensations and impulses. MBSR is suitable for beginners and those with more meditation experience.
MINDFULNESS BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION (MBCT FOR DEPRESSION)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is designed to help people who suffer repeated bouts of depression and chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. MBCT for Depression is a 1 hour per week, 8 week program.
The heart of this work lies in becoming acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterise mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship to them. MBCT was developed by Zindel Segal, Mark Williams and John Teasdale, based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.
EMOTIONAL REGULATION GROUP (DBT INFORMED) FOR NDIS CLIENTS
The course is a 12-week program and participants can attend just once or more than once to enable them to integrate the material better.
Each session goes for 90 minutes. The course is suitable for participants with cognitive challenges and while psychoeducational, there is plenty of space for interaction and discussion.
It is not necessary but can be helpful for group members to see a counsellor while attending the group.
